There’s nothing better than a fun family road trip that leads you to the great outdoors! Even better when you’re inspired by the beauty of nature to get active and creative to commemorate the adventure. We’ll be taking inspiration from the adventure-seeking Bo Peep, back with her trusty staff and sheep in Toy Story 4, coming to theatres June 21!
– Twine or brightly colored yarn
– Sturdy stick found at your campsite
– Feathers, rocks, pebbles, pinecones, and acorns from your campsite
– Optional: small, brightly colored beads and baubles
Let’s Get Started!
Once you are settled into your campsite, begin exploring your campground for items for your scavenging staff! Starting with a sturdy stick already on the ground, about 14 inches to 2ft long.
Along the way, also look for unique and interesting rocks, feathers, pebbles, pinecones, or acorns around your campground. Be creative! The more diverse your collection, the better!
Take all your treasures back to the campsite. Lay them out and decide how you would like them arranged on your staff.
Begin by tying the twine or yarn securely around each item. OPTIONAL: also string a brightly colored bead above each item. Once each item is securely tied to the bottom of the yarn, use the loose end to tie it to your stick. Leave a few inches between each item on the stick.
Finally, cut two lengths of twine or yarn about 12-14 inches long and tie each in a double knot at each end of the stick to allow for hanging.
And there you have it! Your scavenging staff will be there to remind you of your campground adventures and all the fun you had on your journey to create it. Don’t forget to see Bo and the rest of the gang in Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story 4 in theatres June 21!
