Having (and being!) a four-year-old is a super exciting time. They’re constantly learning, playing, and growing. To be honest, it can be tough to keep them busy! Which is why we’ve consulted with our childhood development experts to help us round up a few Disney crafts and recipes that will be perfect for the four-year-old in your life.
Four-year-olds are constantly dying to get their hands dirty — which is why they’ll be more than thrilled to help bake this Pete’s Dragon-inspired cobbler. As you set out the various ingredients, kids will love learning how to measure out the correct portions. It’s a baking and math lesson all rolled into one!
After all that cobbler, you’ll need something to wash it down with. This blue, night howler lemonade is delicious and the best way to work out your little one’s hand muscles. What four-year-old wouldn’t want to help squeeze lemons? This will help them strengthen their important writing muscles. Take things a step further by trying the lemon juice before adding in the other ingredients — it will be a sensory experience they’ll never forget.
Just mentioning the movie Finding Nemo to any four-year-old elicits screams of joy — imagine how they’ll react when you tell them they can bob for Nemo in their own yard or bathtub? This craft is fun for preschool-aged kids, as tracing the templates onto sponges is a great task for working on their hand-eye coordination. If creating these creatures is too difficult, fear not. The other activities you can use the sponges for will be fun for younger kids as well!
Four-year-olds have very impressive memory skills. Continue to strengthen those memory skills with a fun game featuring everyone’s favorite Frozen friends. Imagine the look on your kid’s face when the flip over the card and find Olaf! Priceless fun.
Whether your four-year-old is a fashionista or bug-obsessed, these Cinderella-inspired butterfly snack clips are a must-have for all tykes. You’ll have so much fun crafting these together — and your kids will delight in seeing these butterflies come alive. Not only will they be able to show off this craft off at school each day, but it may even inspire them and their little friends to make clothes pin creatures of their own!
Pair any of these crafts and recipes with their corresponding Disney film and you’ve got the perfect #DisneyWeekend plans. Be sure to share them with us by tagging @DisneyFamily on Instagram. Have a magical day!
