Every night must feel like a bella notte when you’re putting your little one to sleep in a nursery like this! From the framed artwork to the decorations around the room, the details in this little one’s bedroom are blowing our minds.
As Disney fans, we can’t help but “ooh” and “ahh” over the special pieces of home decor that come together to create the perfect place for a baby girl to rest her head. Mom, and creator of this fantastic nursery, Kelsey Hermanson put a lot of time and effort into piecing this room together for her daughter.
She tells Disney Family, “I was inspired to create this nursery when our family learned we were expecting a second little girl. My older daughter Patina loves the movie Lady and the Tramp.” It was only fitting that the beloved movie reach the walls of her second daughter Camber’s nursery.
Hermanson was inspired by the overall Victorian theme, beautiful nursery in the film, and “specifically in the use of the bows throughout the space,” she explains. “For me, the bows represent the nursery as they were used around the crib.” Not to mention, they add such a lovely touch to the overall aesthetic.
This room is extra special to Hermanson and her family, as it was the very first room she started decorating in their new home. It also reminds her of the very special connection she has with her own dog Kuma.
“He was my first fur baby and he means so much to us. We have since had two beautiful girls, but Kuma has always remained an important part of our family,” the mom of two says. “My favorite scene is when Lady looks at the baby for the first time in his crib. I remember clearly Kuma’s first reaction when we brought Patina home from the hospital. Kuma was just so bewildered looking at her.”
As any dog lover (and likely any Lady and the Tramp fan) knows, a dog is so much more than a pet. They are a part of the family—and this room is a true testament to this relationship.
Of course, we needed to learn more about where Hermanson found all of these incredible pieces of decor! Not surprisingly, she has been collecting Disney accent pieces for years.
“I have an original 1955 color newspaper advertisement of Lady and the Tramp framed in the collage, as well as a vintage collector’s plate that includes the cast of the film,” she explains. “I also used vintage figurines of both Lady and Tramp. I took my time to ensure details throughout the nursery.”
She sure did! And all of that hard work has certainly paid off. We’re literally drooling over this spectacularly themed bedroom.
As you can imagine, Hermanson’s family and friends have been blown away by this nursery as well. “They always love to see all the little details that really remind them of the film,” she says.
The avid fan also posted the room’s progress on her Instagram account so her loved ones could follow along as she worked on it. And once completed, she has received a great response, including requests to decorate their nurseries. One even asked to move into her home—and we can see why!
I think we can all agree that these little girls are growing up in a very magical home.
