Whether you’re decorating a classroom, playroom, or the backyard for a birthday party, these photo booth ideas add a fun and conversational element to any kid-friendly space.

Rapunzel-Inspired Photo Booth Backdrop

What you’ll need:

  • Pink and lavender streamers
  • Tape
  • Construction Paper or Scrapbook Paper
  • Letter Stencils
  • Scissors

How to make it:

  1. Cut streamers into five-foot lengths and tape to the wall, overlapping sporadically for a colorful textured look.
  2. Use letter stencils to trace out the words onto construction paper or scrapbook paper. We chose to write, “I want to make a difference by..”
  3. Carefully cut out letters and tape directly onto the streamers.
  4. Encourage children to think creatively, and finish the sentence with their own vision for their community.

Ariel-Inspired Photo Booth Backdrop

What you’ll need:

  • Blue and turquoise tulle
  • Tape
  • Construction Paper or Scrapbook Paper
  • Letter Stencils
  • Scissors

How to make it:

  1. Use the letter stencils to trace out the words onto construction paper or scrapbook paper. For this photo booth backdrop, we wrote, “Today I’m changing my community…”
  2. Carefully cut out letters, and tape to the wall. Next you’ll add the tulle.
  3. Cut pieces of tulle in varying heights and tape to the wall. Layer the tulle pieces horizontally across the wall. Make sure to keep the layering light to maintain the look and feel of water.
  4. Encourage kids to finish the sentence, and share their vision for their community’s future.

The Lion King-Inspired Photo Booth Backdrop

What you’ll need:

  • Fake monstera leaves (or paper leaves cut out of construction paper)
  • Fake palm leaves (or paper palm leaves cut out of construction paper)
  • Tape
  • Construction Paper or Scrapbook Paper
  • Letter Stencils
  • Scissors

How to make it:

  1. Look for affordable fake leaves at a party or craft store. If you want to DIY a bit more, make your own leaves out of green craft paper.
  2. Use the letter stencils to trace out the words on construction paper or scrapbook paper. For this photo booth backdrop we wrote, “I want to volunteer with my family…”
  3. Carefully cut out letters, and tape to the wall just above kid-height.
  4. Create and arch with your leaves by taping them up and around the words. Bunch them together just like the trees in the jungle.
  5. Encourage children to think creatively, and share what inspires them & the positive impact they’re making in their community.
