Mickey Wreath Cookies
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups of flour
- Green food coloring
- Mickey cookie cutter
- Piping tip
- Small cookie cutter
- Paring knife (optional)
- Cinnamon candies
- Sugar sprinkles
- Frosting (store bought or homemade)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
In the bowl of a stand mixer use the paddle attachment to beat the butter and sugar on medium-high speed until combined.
Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, baking powder, and salt.
Add the flour slowly and mix until dough is formed. Add a couple drops of green food coloring and mix until combined.
Roll out the dough to about ¼ of an inch with a rolling pin. Cut out cookies with the Mickey cookie cutter. Use small round cookie cutter and piping tip (or pairing knife) to cut out the middle of the head and ears to make the wreath shapes.
Sprinkle cookies with sugar sprinkles.
Place cookies on baking sheet. Be sure to space out cookies so they have enough room to rise.
Bake at 350 degrees for 6-8 minutes.
Remove cookies from oven and allow to cool.
Attach cinnamon candies with a dot of frosting.
