Moms rule and definitely deserve to be treated like queens on Mother’s Day. One way to make Mom feel extra special is to make her a beautifully decorated cake. Inspired by Tangled, this Mother’s Day cake is garnished with edible flowers that rival Rapunzel’s braid. Topped with perfectly piped frosting letters spelling out “mother knows best,” I know the ladies in your life will love this cake.
Piping frosting letters can definitely be a challenge, but luckily I have an easy hack to make spelling with frosting much easier. It still may take a few practice tries to get it right, but once you nail it, you’ll want to pipe letters on everything!
For more Disney magic, check out this Incredibles-themed workout:
- Regular paper or cardstock
- Wax paper or clear plastic bag
- Piping bag and tip
- Pink frosting
- Edible flowers
- Scissors (optional)
All cutting needs to be done by an adult.
Type out “Mother Knows Best” on a document. Print out on paper to use as a template for piping. Place wax paper or bag over the printout and pipe frosting over the letters. When done, chill frosting letters until hardened, about an hour.
Use your hands or scissors to pull apart the petals. Press the petals over the sides of the cake.
When the frosted letters have hardened, carefully slide them off the wax paper or bag with a knife and place on the cake.
Top the cake with more flowers to finish it off.
