Mulan’s Cherry Blossom Tarts

  • Pie crust dough
  • Flower cookie cutter
  • 5 ounces dark chocolate
  • 6 ounces heavy whipping cream
  • 1/4 cup whipped cream
  • Red food coloring
  • Pink sprinkles


  1. Pre-heat oven to 450 degrees.

  2. Roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch thickness. Use the flower cookie cutter to cut out flower shapes.

  3. Place flower shapes into cupcake pan and press dough to the bottom of the pan until flat. Straighten the petals and adjust as needed.

  4. Bake for 6 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool.

  5. To prepare the filling, put chopped dark chocolate into a medium bowl.

  6. Bring heavy whipping cream to a boil in saucepan. Immediately remove from heat and pour into the bowl with the chocolate.

  7. Cover the bowl and let it sit for 5 minutes.

  8. Uncover and stir the chocolate and cream until completely combined.

  9. You might need to microwave the chocolate mixture in order to melt completely.

  10. Using a small spoon, fill each pastry blossom with chocolate filling. Place in the freezer for about 15-20 minutes to set.

  11. Place whipped cream in a small bowl. Add 1 drop of red food coloring and mix completely until pink.

  12. Using the tip of a butter knife, add a small drop of pink whipped cream to the middle of each chocolate blossom. Add a sprinkle of pink sprinkles!

  13. Enjoy!
