Oogie Boogie Cake

Ingredients

  • Chocolate cake mix
  • 1 1/4 cups water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 eggs
  • Light green fondant
  • Black icing
  • Gummy worms

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Combine chocolate cake mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs in a large bowl. Mix well.

  3. Grease bottom and sides of baking pan.

  4. Pour cake batter into pan.

  5. Bake for 30-35 minutes.

  6. Test center of the cake with a toothpick.

  7. Let cool.

  8. Cut cake into Oogie Boogie shape. Download and print attached template for a guide.

  9. Place fondant between two sheets of wax paper. Roll out with a rolling pin.

  10. Place fondant on top of cake. Shape around the sides and remove excess.

  11. Use the handle of a wooden spoon to create holes for gummy worms. Add gummy worms into the holes so they appear to be pouring out of the cake.

  12. Add Oogie Boogie facial features and stitching details with black icing.

  13. Enjoy!
