Toy Story Aliens Pizza
- 1/2 cup fresh spinach
- 1 1/2 teaspoon dry yeast
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
- 1 cup bread flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 8 string cheese, cut into smaller pieces
- 1/4 cup pizza sauce
- 1/3 cup shredded mozzarella
- 2 1/2 tablespoons shredded cheddar
- Powdered cheese
- 1 slice Monterey Jack
- 9 olives
- Food marker
- 1/2 of a cucumber
Cook spinach in a pot of boiling water until just wilted. Drain and squeeze out the water. Add to a blender and pulse until pureed. Add water to pureed spinach to make 1/4 cup of liquid.
Add 1/2 cup of warm water to a large bowl. Sprinkle in yeast and sugar, stir to combine. Set aside for 10 minutes.
Add flour, salt, oil, and spinach puree to yeast mixture. Keep kneading until flour is well incorporated. Form into a ball and placed it in a covered bowl to let it rise for 30 minutes.
Preheat oven to 350° F. Roll out dough to form a circle for the pizza base then place it in a pizza pan. To make Aliens, roll out a small portion of dough, wrap around string cheese, and seal well. Place Aliens around the edge of the pizza. Continue until the entire edge is full.
Top with pizza sauce, mozzarella, and cheddar.
Bake for 5 minutes, then turn down the temperature to 300° F and continue baking for 20 minutes. Once cool, sprinkle with powdered cheese.
To complete making the Aliens, use straws to cut out cheese and olives for the Aliens’ eyes. Use a food marker to draw on their mouth. For their ears and antenna, cut the cucumber skin with kitchen scissors. Make cuts on the pizza crust, so you can poke them in. Then enjoy!
