Friendship is a wonderful thing, and that’s why we love celebrating our favorite silly ol’ bear, Winnie the Pooh. Since he definitely knows a thing or two about a rumbly tumbly, we thought he’d make the perfect inspiration for the sweetest breakfast surprise. Winnie the Pooh Pancakes
- Your favorite pancake recipe
- Cocoa powder or cacao powder
- Butter or any preferred butter alternative
- Two clear squeeze bottles
All stovetop cooking should be done by an adult.
Prepare your favorite pancake batter recipe.
Portion a small amount of the batter into a separate bowl and add cocoa powder (or cacao powder) until the mixture is light brown. The amount depends on how much batter you make, but for 1 cup of batter, it shouldn’t be more than a tablespoon.
Transfer the original pancake batter and cocoa batter into separate clear squeeze bottles.
Heat your pan to medium and add a little bit of butter (or butter alternative) into the pan.
With the cocoa batter, use the squeeze bottle to “draw” Winnie the Pooh’s face directly onto the pan.
Let the cocoa batter cook for about 20 seconds, then using the original pancake batter, “draw” the outline of Winnie the Pooh’s face shape and ears, and fill it in.
Flip the pancake once you see bubbles in the batter begin bursting. Let the other side cook for 30 seconds to one minute.
Repeat this process with any shapes or characters you like!
Enjoy with fresh berries and maple syrup!
